A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Based in Santa Monica, California,  John Ellis studied Liberal Arts at Pomona College, Fine Art Photography at UCLA, worked with Annie Leibovitz and Tim Street-Porter as an assistant before curating his own career as a photographer focused on the wonderful world of design.    

• 6 year member of the Architectural Review Board of Santa Monica

• Past Vice President of the Southern California Chapter of Society of Architectural Historians

ABOUT MY PROCESS

Known for capturing the natural light, and for communicating an emotional feeling through his imagery, John Ellis uses his artistic eye to lens architectural, interior, portraiture, editorial work.  His work is regularly featured around the world in design publications and on line.  Ellis has worked with Architectural Digest, Dwell, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Interior Design, Luxe, Coastal Living, California Home + Design, Metropolis, Better Homes + Gardens, C Magazine, LA Times Magazine, NY Times, LALA, Luxe, 1st Dibs, Curbed,  Interiors, Palm Springs Life,  Kimpton Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Kohler, Ann Sachs, Bulthaup,  Timber Press, Rizzoli.
